I think it looks good with the big f/1.4 glass....

Did you notice the add on hand grip with built in ARCA type mount?

Yep, does look convenient and useful. But I could not convince myself to pay for it.

          I didn't notice the grip...
I've grown fond of my screwdriver handle.

This wasn't a part of tonight's plan, but stuff happens.....

Looks like you did that on purpose. And it took some effort.

I had a lens come apart all on its own. I noticed something was sloppy loose, and then next thing, I am watching a lens (round glass part) rolling along on concrete driveway. Ah! That was quite a sight!
Somehow the screws were retained, and I did get it back together.

That's the 28mm lens I used in the tubes pic. I took a closer look thru it last night and noticed a bit of haze inside. I took the three screws on the back off just planning to take a brief look. Shortly later I was fully involved. The small glass on the camera body side seems to have been the culprit. Initially, it looked to be a single piece and it wouldn't come clean. I hit it with a bit of alcohol on a Q tip and it immediately fogged over. After more fiddling, I found that there were three glass pieces in there. A convex / flat piece, a concave / concave piece, and another smaller convex / flat. It came apart quick and I didn' t get to note the order. I then spent a half hour plus trying to get it right, which it still may not be.
Then at the end I found no detent action on the aperture ring. On a closer look I saw a tiny hole with a spring and a missing detent ball. I went across the floor with a magnet and eventually, luckily found it. Its back together.... with a fingerprint on the camera side glass. Luckily that unscrews with out taking the whole lens apart again. Tonights job.

The aperture really is a small piece of mechanical art.

The lens rolling down the driveway must have been upsetting...

I took a drive through the Elk and Bison Prarie at the Land Between the Lakes this morning. The Elk were very photo friendly and the Females seemed really attracted to the Orange PT.

do you think it is the wood grain sides?
                  or the alloy wheels?
or was it the driver they liked?

when you paid your admission fee, did you get a number tag for your ear?

It is an automatic gate with a kiosk like you see at car washes. You can pay cash or credit card and get a printed receipt if you want. The loop is a 2-3 mile paved road that circled back to the entrance. Yes my tag# is 007.........

Saturday we meet our son (Redmanson that some of you have meet) and family, and our daughter and family, down at the city ski hill. For the Cardboard Sled Races.
Is an event where folks can build a cardboard sled, and race it down the ski slope.

Are events for kids, and events for familys, and events for adults.
THey can get going fairly fast. SOme tip over sideways, some go crooked and crash into each other.
Some get going fast and then crash into the hay bales at the bottom.

                      Good fun.

Ambulance crew called in for only one person.

Stopped by to check out a park on my way home from work that I've passed many many times.
Just a quick walkaround to see whats around. Looks like a good spot with potential.
