Ha. One could definitely get some interesting shote 40- 50' up in the air... I'd have a tough time taking pics with one hand on the camera and the other holding the rail though.

Sifting through a 'camera dump' file today I came across this pic. Its a neighbors property after the June 2015 fire. It was devastating for generational cabin owners. Their 4-wheeler, its trailer and 17' Grumman canoe.

Probably. Amazing how far it travelled before solidifying.

Yes, aluminum. It was a hot fire in some places where organic soil was entirely consumed leaving only exposed mineral soil. It looked like a lunar landscape.

The look of a lunar landscape was my initial thought as well.
I have a 15" Grumman that is like an old friend to me.

Wow! That aluminum had to stay hot for a while to flow that far.

A flooring company I worked for had a disgruntled employee torch one of the vans. With all the oil based stain, polyurethane and this lovely epoxy resin used to mix dust and make filler with, it made for a pretty intense carbeque. The Clark edger, drum sander and buffer were all reduced to blobs of metal.

Memorial to the Escanaba. A coast guard ship, WWII, stationed here, that was converted to convoy escort-protection duty in Atlantic ocean. Torpedoed and sunk in a matter of a few minutes, all crew lost except two survivors.
(Later thought maybe was boiler explosion.) Original mast placed in park near coast guard station as a memorial.
THose two survivors returned for memorial service every year for the rest of their lives.
