Great shot Scott. I remember those little buggers. We were paddling the head waters of the Missouri just north of Yellowstone back in '07/'08??. You have my absolute sympathy. LOL.

Windmills are even rarer here, but the few still hanging around are generally built with steel legs. I see that one still has its pump.

Nice pic of the Cicada. We literary have none at home. Today I'm at a job about 20 miles west of home and they are everywhere. And noisy.

I was going to say the same. Huge difference in quality between the first and the most recent: Well done!

Thanks guys. That one actually took a bit of work. Had to straighten the walls because it was a wide angle shot, contrast range was terrible because of harsh light coming through the roof which made setting my white and black points difficult and trying to figure the mid range so it wasn't just black or white. Easy part was putting the bright spot back on the floor. Add that to the stupid fact I didn't bracket the shot and only had the one exposure to work with.

Killdeer, took up nesting in lot of the shop, we put stuff around it so hopefully they will be left alone. They let me get close without freaking out but actcrazy if anyone else comes around...I'm the bird whisperer

Interesting Quite a vulnerable location if it's nesting! Best everyone stays as far away as possible. (You can't be a better friend than to avoid it entirely andkeeping everyone else away) I wonder if it will hatch an egg there? I guess you know they do the "Chase me! I've got a broken wing" to distract predators from nestlings..

Only two eggs, co worker said there were three at first? Either he miss counted or something happened to one? I see these birds all the time, they are often around the gravel roads out in the country and have been reading about them and their broken wing tactic.

In the back of our lot at work there are several other nesting, them birds are all over the place back there. I spotted two adult ? birds with seven or eight little ones following, but they ran into some brush as I went by.

We'll see what happens, I've seen coyotes, bobcats, regular domestic cats, dogs, deers, turkeys and other larger birds in our back lot, but this particular bird is a little closer to the shop.
