
The engine is canted forward about 45 deg so the intakes are almost straight up and down. The carbs are super easy to get off and put back on. All of 5 minutes tops with no fuss or muss.
The carbs are also Mikunis and very similar to those on our beloved GSs with the exception that a) the airmixture screws are impossible to access once on the engine b) the throttle linkage balance screws don't have any lock nuts to fiddle with. As a result, doing a synchro is also a snap and a lot easier than fiddling on the GSs with the frame backbone in the way.
while I am still a dyed in the wool fan of the GS, there is definitely something to be said about the layout of the FZ engine bay.
