I've never seen a "Euro model", what's different? I see a rear grab handle, and the gauges look completely different, almost similar to 900F or CBX gauges? Love to find a pair of those gold wheels!

The Cdn/Euro version also had rearsets, lower clip-on handlebars and a different throttle control.

Don't be a hater Octain, Honda has made some great bikes over the years. As have Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha and dare I say, Harley? Well, that last ones a stretch, but..............

Beautiful.....A couple of weeks ago a guy in the Flemington NJ area passed me on that same bike. He pulled into the diner, and I followed him in. Really nice guy and former gs owner. The was the second owner and despite having 83k miles on it looked great.

                  Canadian vs. American

Different (gold) wheels, deletion of seat strap, addition of grab rail, anything else?

What's responsible for the increased horsepower? Different emissions standards?

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

Lower bars, rear set pegs and some other stuff to.IIRC it was mostly emissions stuff that made the HP diff.

I prefer the blue base CB1100f in the first set of pics, but those bikes are in my top 10 for '80's motorcycles. Love them!

What a score! Love that era when the styling started to go more sport-bikeesque. I have 2)83's myself and love them. Very clean example of a bike I would love to own one day too.

So, as the recent purchaser of the same bike, I am dying to know how much this minty one set you back. You can probably get at least 6 for such a clean one.

Well, he was asking $3500, but said it was running when I talked to him that morning. I already had my trailer hooked up and was on my way to Canton anyway for the HOF weekend, and looked at 2 other bikes on the way up so it was just perfect timing. I passed on the first two because they were a bit "misrepresented" and the sellers were asking too much, plus I really wanted to look at this F. When I got there and it wasn't running, I immediately knew I could get it for less, I pointed out a few small imperfections, did the back and forth dance and eventually beat him down to 2K. I know, I know, highway robbery but it wasn't my job to research the bike and it's value. He had a GARAGE full of mint bikes he had gotten from this same estate sale, most of them were newer Harleys, which I assume he knew more about that this "old Honda". He kinda acted like it didn't interest him at all and he just wanted it out of the garage! I've been looking for one in this condition for YEARS, and it basically fell into my lap. I'd be hard pressed to let this one go, but yea, I was thinking 6K was a good guestimate of value, maybe higher on eBay if a couple overseas bidders get interested!!!
