ED...most that I have talked to that follow these bikes are telling me in the hood of 2500ish to as much as 3200 they expect to get on Ebay. If and when I do sell it, I would probably out a 1800 area reserve???

Great score Chuck. I've always liked the first generation GL's. Seen a few restored at local shows and they look great. It was a revolutionary bike for Honda. starting out as a sport bike and morphing into its present incarnation. Who cares how it handles or its power. You don't buy a 40's Indian to take in the twisties either.

You lucky SOB! I guess this never hit CL huh? Man I wish I got deals like this! I'm just 45min away in Edmond/NW OKC area. Sounds like an awesome bike to take for a spin.

Just a thought. If you are on the fence and wanting to ride it a bit before selling... why don't you put it on CL for your crazy price first? Then you would be able to gauge the interest, and local people may be more apt to spend bigger bucks if they were looking for one and don't have to pay shipping.

GS850....never was on Clist. I work at Hitachi and they have thier own in house version of Clist where emplyees can post adds for things they are selling, need help moving, or whatever. Guy back in the distribution center posted the add and I was fortunate enought to be the first person to call him about it...and now its a rider again.

Greg..Just my luck that if I did that someone would jump and I would get any time with it. I will hold off till I decide, but I will say this...Its one heck of a smooth bike and its wuinning favor with me rapidly.

You'll discover that's one of the intoxicating pleasures of a Goldwing. They really handle quite well. I drag the footpegs effortlessly on mine. Smooth as glass.

Nice score Chuck! I really like those 1st gen GWs! There's a nice DIY article in Motorcycle Classics Magazine on replacing the water pump on a 'Wing.

I have considered it and I will have to pass....but, seeing that your so close to me up in Edmond, we just may together someday and you can take her for a ride. Still need to do fork seals on her but shes "ridable" so to speak for a little showing off right now.

Hey Chuck, push the forks up about 3/4" in the triple trees. It levels it out beautifully, and it handles quicker, too. Superbike bars are also really comfortable on these bikes..you'll never want to part with it.

Larry..she rolls on sweet and pulls like a locomotive right out of the gate. I gotta do a ALL of the routine maintenance yet, but seeing that all I have done is rebuild the carbs and run it things can only get even better.

I gotta see if theres a way to move the shifter down one tooth though. Darn tight getting the boot in between the head and the lever to down shift and it bugs me.
