So it is time for me to come out of the closet on my newest purchase. 4 weeks ago I quite fortunately stumbled across a bike on my dream list, a 1982 Eddie Lawson Replica with 5000 original miles on the clock. The bike had been in dry, climate controlled storage for the last 18 years & had been properly drained and prepped for long term storage. After diligent research on this particular ELR verifying it's history as well as corresponding Engine & VIN numbers the seller and I made a deal.
I got the bike to my shop and did the basic expected tune-up to prepare it for starting after it's 18 year slumber. After a thorough carb cleaning, fuel lines, filters, oil & fluids Lawson was ready to roll. Thanks to Z1 Enterprises for the FAST shipping of the Kawasaki airbox intake boots. He started on the first rotation. Beautiful, booming sound from the OE Kerker comp pipe! Other than some dust and dirt the bike cleaned up nicely with a deep shine in it's factory colors. Honestly, I never imagined I would have the opportunity to own this awesome, rare machine.
