I wouldn't use that big heavy pvc. I had thought I could bundle some smaller thin wall stuff. I like the foam bricks idea when I get down to it.

It would take a lot of small PVC pipes to result in the necessary volume/displacement you will need. Far more efficient to cast large foam blocks, or even put styrofoam blocks in trash bags and secure them to stringers.
