Carbs cleaned up and flat black paint taken off the carb tops and the intake tubes. Blue paint removed from engine covers and shined up.

Slight correction. It's a BF700 which is a Sharpe SFG98 HVLP in disguise.

      Agreed.

This would be the time to add them. Sand the clear, put down the stripes and reclear.

If he decides to go with the decal kit at a later date I can just sand and add right?? By later , i mean say he mentions it in a month from now.

When you polish it you will be removing some of the clear. If you go ahead and sand it later you will be removing even more clear. With two coats of clear applied it doesn't leave you much room before start sanding into the base coat. My opinion is, either you polish it and call it good, or sand and apply any stripes now.

Well he originally said leave them plain so thats what I did. I will relay the info. If he wants them then he needs to either dont polish them right now or stay with the original plan.

Got the radiator on today, synced the carbs, oil and filter change, and finally rolled the bike out into the daylight. Still need the speed nuts for the tank badges and he only has 1 decal for the side covers but they can be added anytime down the road. Matt and I took our wings for a ride to take his dad some meds we picked up for him. Rode about 60 miles and the bikes ran awesome. So heres some pics and one with Matt and his bike.

Ditch the seat! (and get the correct left mirror )

                    Excellent work gentlemen.

The PO stripped the thread on the perch Dale. Basically the whole switch box housing needs replaced as the unit is a one piece deal. And had the wrong mirror to boot. It needs some tweeking but the lions share of the scrub and rebuffing is done. Took just a tad over 3 weeks I think to take all the blue off and polish everything back to some resemblence of an OEM look. Wish i could get some clients and do an old reconditioning on a regular basis.

Its just something I have a knack for and enjoy..in a relaxing sort of way even though its actual work..know what I mean???

Yeah, the left mirror is probably the 'worst' issue left to address. The PO did a number on it, and it's going to require replacing the entire switch / lever / mirror assembly. I just haven't been able to locate a 'correct' one in decent condition yet.
