After 37 years of owning motorcycles, I did it-
I stumbled across a 2006 Fatboy with only 12000 miles on the clock. I still have my GS1000 and the others, but this is a fun cruiser. I almost died from a delayed internal bleed from a routine colonoscopy last October, so I figured why the hell not.Current Rides: 1980 Suzuki GS1000ET, 2006 H-D Fatboy, 2021 BMW K1600BTags: None

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

Watch for harness wear...heard the efi will cut out due to harness chaffing/shorting....something about vibrations on a harley...Idk....
Mind how she handles in the curves...the dreaded HD wobble seems to be slowly increasing with no easily answered reason why at the dealers. Our few neighboring towns who run cycle cops are drifting away from HD due to that unresolved issue...I don't see what the fuss is all about as that has to be one or any of the following- head stem bearings, wheel bearings or swing arm...or yes.
Happy riding!

I'm still not at the point of going to the "Dark Side".I did, for the first time since 1977, move away from a Suzuki and back to a honda. In 1977 it was a 1974 Honda CD550F. Today I'm not the proud owner of a 1998 Honda ST1100. Now I'm ready for some open road.

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

Maybe once my Honda-potamus wears out...
Congrats on remaining among the living! I was fairly surprised to see how many basket-cases like me frequent the Goldwing forums, where one long-lasting topic is "Should I Ride Motorcycles While On Blood Thinners?". Over on those forums, though, there are the trike crowds too -- trikes with crutch-holders and such.
There aren't too many machines that sound as cool as a big quietly-muffled Harley idling away. There's that primary whine that always reminds me of cops. I wish more V-twin owners would realize how cool their bikes used to sound.and God said, "Let there be air compressors!"
