My early 1970's English racer - a Raleigh "Super Course." The original seat, which was just a rock-hard slab of leather, cracked a few years ago so I cannibalized this wimpy, cushioned and sprung seat. Otherwise, it's original. 90 lbs in the tires, and nothing unnecessary, just the way I like my motorcycles. Reynold's 531, which was hot sh$t in it's day; 29 lbs all in. Had her since new, just wish I could still ride her without falling so much. I love her.

1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

I think one of those could be great on the road. I do most of my road riding on an oversized (26" wheels) BMX bike, but much more of my riding is off road on the fat bike.

My old workhorse frame needed a new down tube after years of abuse and a few crashes. Did the tube replacement and shot some color this afternoon to seal it all over. Anyone recognize the color?

I did get a 80's Shwin Sprint for free. Just going through it made a huge difference and it's rideable! The tires hold air well but are weather cracked. Detailer, cartridge and chain came back around after a deep clean with Marvell mystery oil.

thx for the video, Schwinn was the top bike to have for us baby boomers. Too bad they went out of business and the name was bought to put on dept. store crap.

Regarding Schwinn, I was recently surprised. My older son needed a bicycle. We happened to be in a department store and looked at a few, one of which was a Schwinn. I was unimpressed with its cheap components and the bike overall. A few days later we went to a bicycle shop and after talking with them we were shown a Schwinn. It was in a different realm. Quality name brand components, and well finished. Its a good looking bicycle. I mentioned the difference to the salesman and he said the department store bikes are cheaply built and appointed. We did pay considerably more, but worth it in my opinion. Its actually nicer them my 20 something year old Trek mountain bike.

Schwinn is two separate entities, as are Diamondback and Mongoose. I own a high end Diamondback and it never ceases to impress me. I have friends who ride the top tier Schwinns and Mongooses, and they say similar things.

"Schwinn sells essentially two lines of bicycles. One is a line of discount bikes offered through mass-merchandisers such as Wal-Mart, Sears and Kmart. The other line known as the Signature Series, featured on the website, are higher-end models sold through specialty shops."

Interesting.... and nice to see that some of the names from my youth have gotten back to building nice bikes.
I just looked at the Schwinn site, and yes my son's is a signature series. Voyageur, a hybrid bike, in black. I've taken a few rides on it and it rides nice, although its set up for his 6' plus height, not my 5-8 ish....
