Pretty nice looking KZ1000 shaft with 12K miles, original paint & recovered seat. If you like GS1000G's you probably like this model too

They are good, solid bikes. Just don't assume anything from chain drive KZ1000's will fit them. The shaft bikes are very different - seat, tank, fork diameter and much more are different to the chain drive KZ's. The engine is the same as the other 79/80 KZ's except for the shaft stuff. The crank cases, crank and top-end are identical to the chain drive bikes.
The price is decent - and well within the typical range for these bikes.Comment

I like Kawasaki's and all, but not a fan of that angular looking tank and sidecovers. The 1000G is a better bike in almost all respects, including better looking (my opinion). The shaft drive implementation is certainly better.Ed

Versys 650, Even the new version is perfect middleweight touring machine. Kawasaki has priced the Versys 650 very competitively and there are not much options available where I live. The only adventure bike that competes with the Kawasaki Versys 650 in my country are Benelli TRK 502 and Honda CB500X. Both of these bikes doesn't fare against the Versys in any terms. I got my Versys 650 last year and it is the best selling adventure bike in the middleweight segment as per a report by Mototechindia. In the mid '80's somewhere in the range of 12-15 yrs old, I used to go into my local Kawasaki dealer and absolutely drool over all the shiny green Ninjas. I grew out of it.
