Where was the international buyer from Russ? There would be a tidy profit for somebody buying from over here I reckon and we seem to be getting loads of ex US bikes at the moment.79 GS1000S

 80 GSX750
 80 GS550
 80 CB650 cafe racer
75 PC50 - the one with OHV and pedals...
75 TS100 - being ridden (suicidally) by my father

Well a gentleman never kisses and tells all the details.Originally posted by GSX1000E View PostJust curious. How much did it really cost you for those bikes and how much profit did you really make? I mean, INCLUDING all of your time and the transportation costs of the bikes?
 All parameters.
Would you do it again? I'll say that I made between $1200-1500 after all is said and done. Would I do it again? Of course. I wish I would have made more on a cash outlay that big but that's part of the game. Sometimes you win (sometimes bigger than others), sometimes you lose (doesn't happen very often but it does happen), and sometimes you just break even. On this particular deal the winning bidder had a maximum bid of $12500. I just needed someone to bid against him. I had a guy contact me after and say that he just didn't wake up (auction ended at 4am his time) and if buyer didn't come through he could offer me $11K. I wish he would have gotten up!

Switzerland. The classic scene is so much bigger in Europe (especially UK) and the exchange rate definitely favors you guys right now.Originally posted by hampshirehog View PostWhere was the international buyer from Russ? "I sold 3 of those for $10,000, what was I thinking?"

Oh I am sure that will happen at some point. Mostly I just wanted the garage space and figured if I could move them all in one shot then I would accept a little less. Plus I needed the capitol for the next deal.Originally posted by Kiwi Canuck View PostRuss, I have a feeling you will think back on this one day and say

I think the re5's will really start to move up quite a bit here in the next couple of years.

I would think that the new owner could easily make two $8,000 bikes out of those. So what do you have your eyes on as the new steed?

Next up is a rebuild of my 78 Gs750"S". Have to replace frame. As far as what is on my radar? i would love to find a good '95-97 Ducati 916.Originally posted by GSX1000E View PostI would think that the new owner could easily make two $8,000 bikes out of those.
