    1994 yamaha virago 250

    Hello All,

Just picked up a 250 Virago for cheap to play with. Maybe you can help with a problem.

Bike is in great shape and starts and runs, but...

While test riding, the headlight got hyper white and then burned out. The bike then started to run like crap and I had to rev it up to get it back to the drive way. Large connector under the seat that was getting to the point of melting. about 5 -6 wires coming together there. I jumped the bike from a non running car because the battery has been dead for some time. The PO said he had installed a new battery and then went to start the next day and the battery was dead. The bike has not been hacked in any way.

I know that there isn't a bunch of info here and I haven't had a chance to tear into it to look for clues. If anyone has any ideas here I would be appreciative. I will update as I find out more.

Charging voltage is WAY to high. Fix that problem first then repair the melted connector and go from there.
