    KZ400B valve clearances

1979 KZ400B the top of the valve stem is below the bottom lip of the access hole. The feeler blades will not go into the gap without bending them and I'm not too happy about putting a permanent fold in a blade. Anyone know a get around or is it touch the stud and back off 1/8 turn ?
