Thanks. It's a craigslist ad and I haven't actually seen it in person yet. It would be a long trip so I may reconsider.1983 GS 1100 Guided Laser

Are you running aftermarket pipes and/or a performance air filter ? If yes hopefully the p/o also updated the jetting (if the bike is carbed). My Harley does the same thing my inner pipes are slightly blued right at the cyl exit, it's pretty common. When I worked for Kawi, we would always advise on a Dyno Jet jet kit with any performance mods. I added a Power Commander EFI upgrade on my Harley and it makes a big difference in performance and throttle response. My Vance and Hines aftermarket exhaust has heat shields that cover the header pipe completely to the cylinder to "hide" the ugly bluing. I see that the shields on your bike only go half way up the pipe. You can rub a paste called "Blue Job" on your pipes and the bluing will be gone.Originally posted by 1948man View PostWould header pipes this blue on a 1500 V twin be a concern? It only has 6300 miles. Looks like maybe it has been lean at some time. Is it maybe less of a concern on a twin?Last edited by Road_Clam; 03-07-2016, 07:31 AM.'06 HD Fatboy
