Indian FTR1200I find this very intriguing. A 120HP <500lb V-twin that looks great. Big price tag, up there with Ducati. Limited range with a 3.4 gallon tank. But man does it look good.....

An old adage, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". It may look great to you, but not to me, at first I didn't realize that thing was a motorcycle. For a great looking bike, look at one of the new Kawasaki Z900RS's in the rootbeer & orange color combo. That's my opinion & it ought to be yours.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. I love the Z900RS. But an American bike I would want to buy is way better. Patriotism.....Originally posted by rphillips View PostAn old adage, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I've been getting their email updates. I'd take one, but I'm not going into debt to get one. I'm sticking with my no payment 3-4 figure price tag bikes.Originally posted by bobgroger View PostI find this very intriguing. A 120HP <500lb V-twin that looks great. Great looking scoot but 13 large is a lot of money in my world. Wrenching and being able to have some fun without worrying about decreasing the value of my bike by actually riding is what it's all about for me. For that kind of scratch I could pick up a 1200 sporty or a Buell and open up a parts catalogue to build something pretty close looks wise and have money left to go have some fun with.1980 Yamaha XS1100G (Current bike)
 1982 GS450txz (former bike)
LONG list of previous bikes not listed here.

I identify as a man but according to the label on a box of Stauffers Baked Lasagne I'm actually a family of four

Rear end does nothing for me. Looks like a sawzall chop job. Fender/license plate holder looks even worse. I do like the basic concept though. Reduce the weight and price and they would have a real winner.Ed

They have been asking the customer base if a replica of the 750 flat track racing bike that has dominated the American Flat Track racing circuit, would be something they would want, but with a 1200cc engine. It got an overwhelmingly positive response. If I had the disposable income I'd get one. I wanted an XR 1200 until Jedz informed us on how bad a bike it ix despite it's looks.Originally posted by Nessism View PostRear end does nothing for me. Looks like a sawzall chop job. The real flat track Indian doesn't look like this so called replica bike. Particularly the rear end.Ed

Replica wasn't the optimal choice of words to use, I should have said inspired, but do you really need to take it so literally?Originally posted by Nessism View PostThe real flat track Indian doesn't look like this so called replica bike. Particularly the rear end.:cool:GSRick

+1 on the XR1200Originally posted by gsrick View PostThey have been asking the customer base if a replica of the 750 flat track racing bike that has dominated the American Flat Track racing circuit, would be something they would want, but with a 1200cc engine. Jedz initial comments had me looking into getting an XR1200. Found a low mile bike at a reasonably close HD dealer. Gave serious thought to checking it out but then Jedz started complaining. Since then I’ve deleted the browser saved searches for it.
