curiosity camshaft cap

hi, a question to satisfy my curiosity, why do you put a bolt on the camshaft cap and not a nut?

No reason except for mass production it's cheaper and quicker to thread a hole and fit a bolt rather than a stud, nut and washer.
Why use three components when one will do the job.

If you had studs sticking up out of the top of the head it would be hard to fit the intake cam with the cam chain on the cam chain sprocket.
