Now I know this is only a 400cc and even the spec sheet lists the top speed at 160kph/100mph. So is this just "how it is" after 50 years of age? I'm certainly not going to throw the bike away because it won't do 100mph I just want to make sure there's not something I'm missing.
Might not be relevant but I've also noticed a lot more deceleration pop and general gurgle since the new carbs were fitted. It's not what I'd call excessive but the exhaust tones are definitely different than they were with the stock carbs, a little "buzzier" at high revs and a little more rumble at low rpms. Sounds good to me so I haven't been worried but it might matter. It also might be entirely my imagination.
Thanks for any feedback. I'm so close to being "done" with this bike to the point where I have the confidence to actually ride to to destinations and I just want everything to be as good as it can be.
