Sweet! One of these days I'd like to add one to the stable.

I think that would a great idea, based on the 20 minutes I've actually ridden it. Just sorting things out at the moment.

probably the only thing I might want to change would be the wheels, so I wouldn't have to worry about broken spokes. I wonder if the wheels from a gs 750 would fit.

I like the way they look, but if they break, they're a pain in the butt.

Could always just get the alloys that came on the D version.

this isn't my bike, although I wish it was. I wouldn't mind doing this to mine someday

Yeah that thing caused quite a stir on here and the guy who built it gave us some info, but unfortunately the thread wasn't in a technical forum and got purged automatically

One very sweet 450 hybrid that one!

Mekanix is doing something wild with his also...

Not a very flattering pic at all:

1981 450L. My father got it for me when I was 16. Drove it quite a bit, but it's not been started since 2001/2002 or so. I just got a house last april, and wanted to start driving again. Thing is, it needs work and I haven't had the time, so I bought another twin:

'04 SV650S. it was in immaculate condition, and I was keeping it that way. Then about a month ago, while I was stopped at a stopsign, some douchebag in a lifted truck tried to drive over me. I wasn't hurt, but the bike was cracked up a bit. repairable for sure, though. I've currently go the headlight and turn signals ziptied onto the front, and drilled a hole and jammed a bolt into the shifter lever so I could shift.

But I really want to play with the 450 again, so I've got to finish getting the carbs rebuilt, and get some sort of better handlebars on there, and some new tires ordered. I kinda want to go a little-bit cafe with it, but I don't really want to chop too much up.

                              --sarge

That's a real bugger about the SV, but glad to hear you weren't injured in the mishap.

All I can say about the 450 is do it
