      Well I know it has been a while(work work work work) so here's an update:

      I've figured out I'm no mechanic and I can't trust certain people so I've pulled a favor and have a guy(harley mechanic...huge favor :P) looking at my bike between his paying customers.

      I really can't wait to get this thing going

        From what I can tell, there's no difference in whether you have the single push rod or the two part one except that it's a whole lot easier to replace the pushrod oil seal with the two part one as you only need to remove the left side of the push rod and you can pull it straight out the oil seal.
        The two part is an update to the original single push-rod. Its in the back of a book I have on the 79-85 4xx's and there are a few more updates that you might see when ordering new parts.
