    gs 450 EX valves hits pistons..!

    Hi guys:
    I rebuilt the engine, and when I cam timing, the valves hits over the pistons..!
    I milled the cylinder block, here the problem.?
    what is the solution...? thanks.. Carlos.

    Hi Carlos,

    It seems that your cam timing is not correct. There are a couple of 450 manuals on my website that you can download. The information should be there. I'm sorry I can not be of more help. Do you have a degree wheel?

      No need for a degree wheel. Just time the valves per the factory service manual and all will be well (unless you bent the valves).

        You say you milled the cylinder block... if you mean you've milled the mating surface for the head or crankcase, then the only thing I can think of is to use a thicker base or head gasket to compensate.

        Otherwise, it definitely sounds like your cam timing is way off as others here have already pointed out.

          You don't have the cams timed correctly. You would have to mill a quarter inch off to affect the timing that way. Cams are in wrong, trust me. Ray.
