Doesn't say how it fairs when things get hot. I would just use ordinary gasket paper if you want to make your own.79 GS1000S

That material is most likely fine, but it's a little hard to tell from the description. Make sure it's the same thickness as the original gasket, and not so soft that it squirms out of position when the cover is clamped down.Ed

1/32 is really thin for what you want to do. You should get at least 1/16 inch thick material. Why not stock? They aren't that expensive! Ray.Comment

It's too thin, is your tack cable in the cam cover or the head ?

I use realgasket for my "G" model, the material is fairly thick and it can be cut if you torque it down too much, but if used properly it seals great and will last a very long time. Mine was $ 31 plus shipping but is worth it, it doesn't stick to the surface.
