gs450 gs500 ignition mods

Hi guys, working on my 450 race project,& have a500 motor for spares! does anyont know if the ignition system is interchangable or if one is better than other, are there any advancers available or good mods ???

What Chef said... 80 - 82 450's are the same with mechanical advance, in 83 they changed to electronic advance.

I have read elsewhere on here that 83 onwards and the GS500's are interchangeable, but I know the 80 - 82 are not interchangeable with GS500's (at least not easily anyway).

The Dynatec DS3-3C is a bolt on for the 80 - 82 450's even though it's not officially supported (yet, hoping to change that). You will need the spacer for the rotor they include in their 4 cylinder kits though. This kit replaces the coils as well, and no more ignitor box to find a location for. Oh, and you will need to run a separate wire for your oil pressure sensor.
