Smokes only once warmed up

If a GS450 smokes but only once warmed up. It would be a piston ring issue only or could the head be bad as well (valve guides)?


Reason I ask is that I would like to find a GS450 motor to mod and put in my gs400 (this is a long term project this year I am doing the susp?nsion mods) I want to swap the cylinders with GS500 cylinders, cams then drop it in there.

Anyway theres a gs450 for sale local to me for cheap but the seller claims it stars smokeing when its warm.

Well, your replacing the pistons rings and block so just throw some valve seals in the head and your good on both parts
