O-rings in the full gasket set

Iv'e got the OEM full gasket set for my bike, inside there's a small bag with o-rings. i can identify the oil filter o-ring special shape, but clueless regarding the others.
hopefully the Collective Wisdom of the forum will have this knowledge.

    Thanks

    I spy O-rings for:

    Intake pipes
    Cylinder liners
Crush washers for various plugs like drain pan plug
    Oil passage under cylinder
    various others.

          Absolutely.

The cam chain tensioner gasket is the one on top.

Intake boot pipe O-rings might account for two of those. Dip stick O-ring? Gear position sensor O-ring?

Go though the fishe and look for O-rings...http://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-gsx400-1...613/partslist/

not the intake, already identified them as well as the oil pump o-rings
i was thinking that one of them is for the timing tensioner but seems too big
starter also has one i belive

I believe the 32x2.5 mm one is in the oil pan...I just ordered one and that sounded familiar. Looks like it is the same part (#8 and #29) in the 400 as the 550ES.

I took pictures of the ones I'm still not sure about,
i think the two tiny o-rings are for the oil passages at the top of the case. but what are the brass rings for?
the single o-ring in that picture has a rectangle rather the a round profile and it's around 16mm o.d

On your 400, do the float bowl drain screws have washers between the nut and the o-ring? Do you only have two of the brass gaskets?

Those small o-rings could also be for the drain screw, but their ID looks to be around 4mm, which would probably make them two small.

A flatter profile gasket makes me start thinking of things like the cam chain tensioner. It's a single o-ring, so drain caps (oil sump) and filler holes also make sense, although I do not think there is an o-ring on the oil pan, just a crush washer, and the filler cap does have a round profile, at least on the 550 and 650. Can't see Suzuki straying off that idea for the 400/450.

There are only 2 brass washers. I just had a thought that they might be for the screws on the side of the intake ports.
one of the round o-rings can be for the oil filler, one could be for the gear position sensor and i think there's one in the oil pressure regulator (but i'm not splitting the cases to find out :-))

Yes, there are brass washers in the intake port plugs. Good call. They must be smaller than I thought.
