    Broken Breather Cover

While going in to do a valve adjustment I saw that my breather cover(?) had a large crack in it. Taking it revealed that it was in two pieces. I have no idea how long it's been like this, like since I got the bike - three months ago.

I'm looking for a replacement now (suggestions?) but in the meantime, how badly would this impact my performance? This compartment vents to the airbox so I suppose this isn't catastrophic but probably not good nonetheless.

    Thanks.

Mine did the same thing. Got a new one from the stealer.

      they all do that sir.....

It's very common - usually it's just a corner broken off. Overtightening and a soft gasket will do it.

As far as i know, all the twins and all the 8 valve fours use the same breather cover.
