    tachometer

After a long winter, I've completely cleaned the carbs, (disassembled and soaked) adjusted valve clearances, and put on the old stock exhaust to begin tuning the carbs which I have questions about but I'll post in the correct forum... my question is with the tach... it is currently extremely slow to respond, any tips on how to get the needle moving more freely?

Might try lubing the cable good. If that doesn't help try taking tach apart and cleaning and lubing tach. There are several threads on here how to take them apart, just use the search function. terrylee

Give it time, they do free up over time with use and vibration.
Make sure the cable isn't threaded on too tight or bent in any direction.

I lubed the cable, took the tach apart by prying the glass off as shown in a post on here and lubed it up. It moves much more freely now, not as fast as my car, but definitely an acceptable speed. Thanks for the help.
