    How much oil...

    Hi again!
It?s time to change motor oil in my gsx 400 e -83. When I look in the manual it says 2,6L but on a website I found they say 3,0L...? Is it 3 liters if I change the filter also and 2,6 liters if I don?t change filter?
Is there anyone that knows the right answer?
    Best regards, Henrik

Simply put 2.6L in, start it up, shut it down, let it settle and see where the oil on the glass / dipstick is.

There is quite a bit of oil that stays in the motor when you drain the system. 3.0 L is what you need on hand for a fill from a rebuild, but about 2.6 is all you need for a change. The filter housing doesn't hold much. But I think the main oil gallery stays wet when you drain it, along with a few other little strategic wet spots.

3 liters is a lot of oil for a 400, but probably one of the reasons they're so hard to kill.
