I have a 1981, i think, gs 450 T, in an attempt to correctly identify the year i have resorted to on-line vin decoding, which has resulted in zero, the frame number starts gs 400, and it's a 450, however the engine number starts gs 450; i had a 450 before and i obtained the vin information without any undue issues at all. Am i missing something, is there a secret held dear to some one somewhere. Any help will be much appreciated

10th Digit Model Year for all vin's containing 17 digits Count 10 digits from the beginning and that is the year. This includes autos also.
