    There's no problem with using RTV as long as it isn't applied with a bucket and spade
    Hylomar (originally developed for Rolls Royce, the MOD and aerospace applications) is ideal for the job too..

      1207B is RTV. It's fine for sealing cases, as long as you don't use too much. 1184 is an acrylic sealer. This is the latest version, but there are others that are fine too. From everything I've read, Hylomar is great stuff. You have various acceptable options on what to use.
