1984 GS1000G valve clearances?

    My question in all of this is ... where did you find a 1984 GS1000?
    If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

      It was for sale in Finland. Registered originally in Sweden and it was imported here a decade ago.

      Suzuki Finland have not been able to identify this by VIN number but that's OK.

      I have seen another recently for sale in Sweden so I reckon they were imported as liter bikes there for some reason.

        My '88 GS750ES has a cam follower set up. I adjust one valve at a time, adjusting the two followers for each valve(4 valves per cylinder). The vales are so small, it's very easy to over tighten them, so I tighten them on the mean (.004"). The bikes runs great, right up to 125 mph. I don't think the valves sink in as much as the came follower adjustment parts wear down.

          GS850s and GS1000Gs were sold in Europe after they stopped in the US market.
          In the case of the 850, as late as 1986, probably the same for the 1000G.
          It is alleged the last year of the 850 in Europe was put together to order by a German dealer from a spares catalogue, at some horrendous price, but the buyers were willing to pay that.
