    gs550 piston ring recommendations

Hi, need some rings for a UK 82 GS550ez. Any feedback on Cruzinimage rings? I ask because on a Honda CB forum there were experiences of cruzin rings having poor oil control on CBs
Any recommendations for proven pattern rings?
    Thx

Given correct bore finish and mineral base oil used as a break-in, Cruzinimage rings are as good as anyone elses.

Got to agree here. I've used Cruzinimage rings without issue. Again, careful cross-hatch hone with the correct grit stones, super-clean the bores after honing (white cotton cloth clean after final wipe) Run in short runs, using variable revs across a wide range of rpm (continuously loading and unloading the rings with throttle and engine braking) with the odd excursion into the higher rev range. I used a high zinc/non friction modified break-in oil.
