    Wont rev over ~5000rpm

i've been here before, i first opened an account in 2015. Life got in the way and the bike was parked for a few reasons, a few were taking care of this month. still have some more, but it runs so much smoother.

83 GS850G, replaced the carb insulators with oem, seals etc. replaced petcock with brand new nos oem. carbs were gone through.

Starts runs idles great. But wont rev over 5000rpm. hits like a barrier and wont rev anymore, no sputtering just hits a wall and stays at that rpm. really weird.

i havent poked around yet, just kinda coming on here for some advice on what to check out before i did. floats were set to around 22.4mm

Is that 5k 'wall' under load?

Did it do that before your recent work?

Did you replace the nitrile rubber plugs that sit over the pilot jets?

the bike was put away when i bought the house in 2018, wheeled into the garage and parked until 3 months ago on a bet that it would start right up, with a condiment bottle fed to the carbs, it fired right up.

it could be an airleak on the airbox side. i'll mess with it after work tomorrow
