Ed, I haven't experienced any clutch slippage since fitting Barnett plates and 1/2 a set of HD springs. Perhaps I'm just not making enough HP!!
Still have ample passing torque from 80 kph onwards in 5th though.
On my next big bore 850, the capacity will be 1023cc. I doubt that lack of torque will be an issue with that, even with the higher 5th gear set fitted.
Cr will be raised to 11-1 too.:) The road to hell is paved with good intentions......................................

Should have clarified maybe, the clutch slipping business is in reference to an earlier question about getting off the line from a stop with the taller rear end - requires more clutch slipping. Regarding that monster of yours, good luck with that. Building stuff is cool.Ed, I haven't experienced any clutch slippage since fitting Barnett plates and 1/2 a set of HD springs. Yeah, that clarification makes sense now.Should have clarified maybe, the clutch slipping business is in reference to an earlier question about getting off the line from a stop with the taller rear end - requires more clutch slipping. I will set up a thread with progressive pics, once I start the next BB project.
Incidentally, I find the 850's 1st gear quite low, even with the 2.9 diff fitted. Minimal slippage required when pulling off the line. Having a very wide power band also helps. The higher 5th gear won't change the clutch slippage demands, off the line .:) The road to hell is paved with good intentions......................................
