Thankfully not the case JW. The last time I adjusted them, I'm sure I cheated on more than one. In stead of actually readjusting a tight valve I just cracked the jam nut back a smidge, wondering of coarse if it would start to back off more over time........ quandry solved. Yes it will. And once again shortcuts are proven to be the long way. The sad part is I know better. Gettin lazy in my old age.

(One of my neighbors gave my bike that name because when I go by their house, (slow, 30-40 mph), the chain is the loudest thing on the bike.)

Sounds like you need a new chain and sprockets.
