Clutch cover gasket
Yesterday I replaced the clutch on my 1982 750TZ and noticed the clutch cover gasket seemed to do a little more than seal. It appears that it also acts as some sort of baffel or splash shield. It was not reusable, and I didnt replace it. Just sealed the cover back on with black RTV. Is this something I should be concerned about. Will there be any performance issues with not going back with a new gasket? ThanksTags: None -

Depending on how much RTV you used it could be a problem. If you used a lot, it can break off and clog up your oil ports. Personally, I would get the proper gasket and do it right. The couple of bucks the gasket costs isn't worth destroying the engine.
