    Kickstarter Grinds When Starting

I thought it was normal at first but having seen a few videos im pretty sure its not.
When I try to kickstart, it works great, usually starts immediately. but then once it starts the kickstarter grinds until I put it all the way back up.
    Whats the deal?!

Easy. When you are done kicking, let it go back up.

Well yeah, I've been doing that... But is it a normal occurrence? Or something that will develop into a problem?

It's just the kickstart gear that engages when you prod the kicker down. Once you let it all the way up it disengages. If you left it rubbing long enough I suppose you could wear something out. It's 100% normal.
