Starter sometimes hesitates. What's going on?

I noticed a couple of times in the past week or so that the starter seems to hesitate, like it is trying to turn over the engine but just can't. It does a slow roll almost like there isn't enough juice in the battery to crank. I then release the start button and immediately re-try and it fires straight away and starts up with no issues. The battery is fine and this only has happened when the bike is warm. There is never a problem with the first start-up of the day.

Any ideas what may be going on? Please tell me my starter isn't threatening to die on me.

Most likely the starter could use new brushes.
