    Piston circlip?

So I have an 82 GS550, pulled the block and took the pistons off. I was pulling out that little ring that holds the cylinder in that holds the piston on the shaft. And it went ping, and disappeared for all eternity. Is this something I can pick up at any decent parts store or do they need to be custom ordered? It seems a simple enough part, but those seem to be the hardest to find sometimes.

They should all be replaced once they've been used... available from Suzuki for about $8 total.

      It is called a:
CIRCLIP, PISTON PIN 09381-16001 (replaces 09381-16002)

and you should always replace them once removed. If you reuse one and it looses its tension, you have just destroyed a cylinder and a piston/ring set.

Just double check that all eternity doesn't live down in the crankcase - you don't want one of the those clips coming up later and boogering your pistons and / or bores

I have always called those Jesus Clips. When you remove them and they spring across the room you would say, "Jesus!"
