I might take that to mean I should have made some adjustments of my own if they were the same carburetors, same motor, or the same bike.

I run a set of 34mm carbs from an '87 gsxr 1100 on my '83 750. I had to lower the float level to compensate for the lesser angle they now have.

If by "runs just fine at that terrible angle" you mean "runs a 10.51 with a good launch, still gets 48mpg, and starts right up" then yes, runs fine.

Floats are set to factory levels. The angle isn't so aggressive as it seems to be. I imagine it isn't ideal, and it is tilted a little more forward than it was in the Kat chassis, but not anymore than it would be had someone slapped GSXR forks on the Kat.

So it runs just fine with the float bowls at that terrible angle?
How high/low did you have to set the float levels and how does that make them run?

I believe I have done what I will do with the intake manifolds...I put my carburetors and pods on them.

I love it...since getting it back together I haven't been able to go anywhere without some random person coming up to me to ask me what it is, what exactly I've done, and chat bikes with me.
