, i heard a weird fluttering noise while it was @ its peak which sounded very weird and i heard flames comming out of the exhaust. it sounded like it went to 14k rpms no joke- it sounded like a high pitched shriek,.. ive mis shifted like this before but never this bad with extra fluttering noises- i mean it was really out of hand, it truly scared the crap out of me and i really cant believe nothing happened to the bike-or so i hope.. i've heard of bent valves but my bike runs mint... unbelievable.

Check your oil man, even when my bike ran dry it rode for about 100 miles after adding fresh oil before the bearing went. Better hope you don't have metal shavings that come out.

hahhaha thats funny as hell (not that hell is funny... where did that saying even come from?) anyways shortly after i went into the beach parking lot and inspected... the bike sorta acted like it had seafoam in it.. some (not insane amounts) white smoke came out after i would throw a rev.. is this a good thing? everything sounded spot on and ran right on the money.. i may do an oil change soon though as i had to top mine off quite a bit this cycleOriginally posted by Steve View PostJohn 3:16

You are lucky. I did that 20 years ago on a Gpz550. Right through the redline and pinned the needle for less then a second. I made another 5kms down the road and it stopped working. I bent almost every valve.
And to think I was trying to wheelie pass a car with some girls in it.
