tacho gear install help

gday .I did the shims on my 81 650e put it back together but cant seem to get the tacho gear in far enough to attach the locking plate.What is the correct way to reinstall it without giving it a good whack cheers,

Hi,

Turn something slowly (the crankshaft via the ignition bolt, like when you do your valve checks) until the gears align and everything falls into place.

yep tried that broke that(got stuck tried removing with pliers broke key end of gear) will get a new one try again later cheers
