Accidental valve cleaning?
Hey all, this Saturday i tried using my diy manometer on my bench synced carbs. Now before you all start jumping at me with all the witty comments about diy carb sticks and other nonsense i already bought a proper tool from ebay so next weekend i'll do it right. well as i plugged everything in and started the bike i didnt notice how #1 cyl was pulling way more than the rest and it sucked a bit of atf. i dont think its such a big deal as it just got burned up but i noticed a higher pitched ringing sound coming from that cylinder. it sounds like a valves and i will check them before restarting the bike. Could it be anything else though or should i be worried. it sucked maybe a 30ml at most which turned to pretty white cloud really fast. another question that comes to mind should i run some seafoam thru other cylinders to get them a little cleaner as well?Tags: None -
ATF is only a light oil really so I would think it will be ok...

When I worked a service station as a teenager in the '70s, we used to pour a little ATF into customers' (car) carbs to "clean out carbon deposits." Don't know if it worked, but it was impressive to see all that smoke from just a few drops.Comment
