stainless button head allen bolts

does anyone have any reason why i cant use for this style bolt to secure the clutch springs in the basket?

You're making a see-through cover aren't you....?

You should be fine - torque settings will be pretty low for those bolts.

Common 18-8 or 316 stainless bolts have a tensile strength of 85 ksi, and the stock bolt Suzuki used on the clutch are about 115 ksi, or 35% stronger. I'd use the stronger bolts.

so what would you suggest nessism? standard steel bolts or something of a different grade steel.

remember they're screwing into alloy....and the washers under the heads are almost certainly weaker than the stainless capscrews too.

The bolts I've seen break have been stock ones which break where the thread is relieved under the head for washer clearance.
IMO they only break because of overtightening.

No. but try it anyway and lets us know, lol. I know you want the bling but alloy bolts arent meant for that. maybe the covers. titanium? only coulple of bolts wont be thatmuch

Spec is only 8 lb-ft - that's nothing (roughly one finger on a 6 inch torque bar). No problem unless you buy bolts made out of cheese. I wouldn't go with alloy - even the Screwfix stainless is stronger than that.

im gonna go with stainless mushroom/button head bolts and washers. i reckon they will be fine
