l am doing the top end on my 1977 GS750B.l have had the barrels rebored for a wiseco 69mm 844cc big bore kit. After reading that aftermarket gaskets are not a good option l have ordered al genuine suzuki gaskets.
The head gasket is a multi layer steel type and l have two concerns:-
1.the two rear outer holes for the head studs are also used to feed the oil supply the the camshafts and valve train.the old gasket was an NP brand and had o-ring around these outer studs but the original does not.do l have to woory about it leaking oil from here.should l use a sealant to make sure l get a good seal.
2.also this multi layer steel gasket has a much narrower timing chain tunnel that covers the machined slot for the timing chain o-ring. do you stil have to use the o-ring or do you have seal up the machined groove with sealant or do you just leave it. my bike originally was leaking from this timing chain tunnel due to the o-ring not being fitted in its groove properly by the previous owner.
