    1100 8-16 valve

    is there a difference in the bottom ends of the 8 and 16 valve 81 1100,s there is an 8 valve 1100 motor for sale locally cheap

    What are you trying to do? The 8 valve will be a shafty don't forget.

      Those motors have different stud patterns
      1978 GS 1000 (since new)
      1979 GS 1000 (The Fridge, superbike replica project)
      1978 GS 1000 (parts)
      1981 GS 850 (anyone want a project?)
      1981 GPZ 550 (backroad screamer)
      1970 450 Mk IIID (THUMP!)
      2007 DRz 400S
      1999 ATK 490ES
      1994 DR 350SES

        Cases & top ends do NOT interchange! As stated above, the cylinder studs are spaced differently. Ray.

          Crankshaft gear in different location, cases, drive-output, transmission shafts, clutch hub, plus a few other parts. Very few parts interchange between the 8v and 16v GS1100.
