    Fuel capacity

I have 1982 GS 850 GL. Anyways I just ran out of gas after 80 miles? I did have fuel leak but replaced hose, it is possible that I pinch hose or defective hose but it appears to be dry everywhere. After 80 miles I fill it up and i burn right at about 2.5 gallons of fuel.

So my question is this normal? Why am I only getting 80 miles a tank?

I ran it on Pri vs. ON(never ran On) , I heard engine noise change from 4 cylinders to 2 of them going out. I switch to reserve and it cleared and I stopped for some fuel and I was fine after that....

So how much fuel does this bike old? I will be very disappointed at only 100 miles but again it's more of a around town bike.

Thats an average of 32MPG...at what speeds? I know that once i get the 1000s ove around 70ish the economy drops a few MPG. If it was totally empty i would think that it should have taken around 4 to 5 gallons to fill it. ?????

      I have read 3.43 gallons.

I did take interstate where I was about 75 for almost 40-45 miles.

Then after that about 65-70 MPH.

I am assuming because of my speeds.

I would say your probably doing pretty well considering your running 75 or so.
