    aftermarket clutch/throttle cables

Replaced the stock handlebars on my 1980 suzuki gs 750 with cafe clubman bars, wondering if it's worth replacing the throttle/clutch cables? Currently, everything works, but there is a lot of excess cable near the grips.

The next question would be how do I measure or adjust for ordering new clutch/throttle cables to fit the cafe bars?

I'm sure there is a link on this website of a similar nature, but I can't find it.

    Thanks,

    Ross

Try some forum searches, this topic has come up quite a bit.

OEM cables are very good and not much more (if at all more) expensive than aftermarket cables. An GS550MZ throttle cable is a popular replacement choice for shorter bars, and what I have on my 550L with Daytona bars. I don't think the 550M clutch cable will work on your model, but the suggestion of a GS1000S clutch cable perhaps has been raised? Don't rely on my memory though - I'm on the other side of 40 now and it shows.
