    Replacing front sprocket

So I'm replacing the chain and sprockets on my GS 750. Pulled the old one and noticed it has some sort of spacers attached to it, I started removing them assuming they'd go on the new one, but when I opened the new one it doesn't have the holes required to attach them. So I'm wondering if the now thinner new sprocket is going to cause an issue, I was under the impression you are supposed to try and place the front sprocket directly in front of the rear sprocket, a task that will be difficult with it being so much thinner now. Do I improvise a spacer, or what is the proper installation of the new sprocket?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

the old one is OEM and comes like that from suzuki, I think they they are supposed to be quieter, those large rubber mounted washers support the sideplates of the chain.
the after market replacement should work fine, the offset should be the same and the part of the sprocket where the nut clamps should be the same thickness.

I had the opportunity today to go out and test fit the new one, turns out as I suspected, there's a frightening amount of free space for the new sprocket to slide around on, because the nut can only go on as far as the threads (shown in the picture) leaving all of the rest of the room behind it for the sprocket which is no longer as thick as the OEM one. Is it possible there's a spacer of some sort I can fit in there with it?

I'm not sure where you purchased the sprocket but Z1's site mentions a 6mm spacer being needed.

I take the stock sprocket apart and use those as spacers.

I'm thinking that's what I'm going to do, spent a while at Lowe's looking all over for a spacer that would work and just couldn't find one anywhere. Figured it would make things quieter anyway, it's win/win
